Bring on the Fireworks!

Happy 4th of July!

The Connors spent the holiday celebrating, as we should, in our Nation's Capital. And really - there is no better place to be! We took an early trip to the National Mall for the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, where we got a little culture before sitting down in "Texas" for lunch and a few beers from the Lone Star state.


Caroline opted out of the beer, and stuck to an Independence Day meal of rice, carrots, and all the peas and cheese she could eat.

Quick nap and ready for some grub!

A little playtime...

Next stop was a quick ride on the Mall Carousel.

 
Um, this is much scarier than it looks. Thank goodness for Mommy riding sidesaddle!

And then another quick ride - less scary and more fun - with daddy before heading home for everyone to rest.

All in all, a perfect day!
