Perfect Day, Mommy Style
In addition to the big baby news of the weekend (and the quite literal celebrations of "Labor Day"), CEC and company kept busy with all kinds of fun activities - including what is now being referred to as "Mommy's Perfect Day"*.
The day started with an early morning breakfast at a nearby diner(ish) and neighborhood favorite, Old Georgetown Grill. It was there that I realized one of those things that probably everyone but me already knew - breakfast is the best meal to take a wriggly 13 month old. Awake, clean, fresh, and HUNGRY! Makes 7:15 AM worth it.
We came home in time for Caroline's morning nap and then a trip out to Butler's Orchard for some PYO** raspberries and blackberries with the Roeschleins. Mother Nature helped out with near perfect weather, as we walked through the canes (berry lingo) and picked out the perfect fruit. We might have sampled some along the way, too.
The afternoon brought a great nap for our little one, and a yummy dinner with fresh berry crisp - literally straight from the orchard!
Nerdy? Probably. Perfect? Absolutely.
* referred to by Mommy, of course
**that's "Pick Your Own" for the uninitiated
