Egg-cellent!
Happy Easter!
Once again, our star shone for the holiday, which started early with an 8:30 AM church service. CEC got to play with her "friends" and show off her fancy Easter dress while mom and dad headed upstairs. Before we left though, we had a little runway show from the pint-sized model:
The day was bright and sunshiny (though a little chilly), and perfect for an egg "hunt" set up in the field behind our place after church. We may have an expert treasure hunter on our hands - she found all of the well-placed eggs, and even knew to put them in the basket.
She then quickly absconded with her loot with no more than a "Bye Bye. See la laler" (See you later) to her 'rents as she hoofed it across the field. Luckily, we're able to see across a flat expanse of grass without much trouble, so there was no concern for her saftety. That, and she didn't get far before getting super-distracted by the dandelions. Reminds me of another girl I knew who'd prefer to pick the brightly colored weed than play right-field, but that's another story.
After a late, and long nap, we rounded out the day at the Morrises' where we had a proper Easter feast - and that's no exaggeration. We're talking ham, salad, asparagus, and a future-prize-winning cornbread, not to mention the cutest chick-cupcakes ever. Seriously... I'm still stuffed.
All in all, a day in which we were reminded over and over of our blessings - definitely a Happy Easter!
