Snowmaggedon

...at least that's what our President called the crazy snowstorm that hit the DC area in February. And actually, that was just the first one. Shortly followed by another, bigger one.

Which of course promted a string of other names suggested by a variety of characters:

Snowpocalypse,
SnOMG... ,
Snow End, and of course:
Snowverkill.

In total, a record-setting 55" fell this winter - with most of it concentrated in a one week period. Yikes.

At least one member of our house (okay, me) was convinced that there was so much, it would still be here in May. As I write this*, it is April and there is no snow. At least I can admit when I'm wrong.

Wait! There are reports in nearby Charlottesville that portions of "Mount Chipotle," a pile of ice and snow, still remain. So ha! Not May, but close enough.

Okay, I'm still wrong.

With two little munchkins that weren't up for more than a brief trip outside, the blizzards meant lots of quality time indoors for the Connors family.

We played playdoh. Made cookies. Colored. Made Valentines. Played dolls. Built blocks. Ran up and down the hallway. Went the laundry room. And watched way too much TV.

The up side? In addition to all the playing, we took lots of pictures and did manage to make one crazy trip, kids in tow, to Rock Bottom for a much wanted outing. And beer.

We also got to marvel with those little people at the beauty, and quantity of snow...

...and we got to get all the snuggles we wanted from our girls-on-the-go.

Now that I think about it, maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

*(don't be fooled by the post-date; that's just to keep me organized)
